Boston Stake Relief Society: Food Storage Buckets

In fall 1964, I took the bus from my dorm in Medford to Harvard Square and walked to the Longfellow Street chapel, which was home to nearly all the Saints inside of “Route 128” (now I-95.) I remember the sound of hymn-singing as I walked eagerly along Brattle St. The Cambridge Ward was singing “All Creatures of Our God and King.” I knew I had found “my church” – which became by spiritual home for decades. Being called to serve as the President of the Boston Stake Relief Society is a blessing and an honor, and I look forward to knowing more deeply the sisters of this wonderful Stake. Just as women’s lives fascinate me, I am also touched to learn how women’s lives are changed by their testimonies of the Savior.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, I'm an Eastern transplant with a Western heart! I graduated from BYU and BC, and worked for a number of years as a first grade school teacher and consultant for a educational company focusing on programs for children and adults with reading difficulties. I LOVE to travel and will hop on a plane any chance I can get! I'm grateful for the special bond we feel as Relief Society sisters and am looking forward to getting to know the sisters in the Boston Stake!
